Looks defensive to me.
4-5-1 where Waghorn might get isolated & holding the ball up is not his strength.
Need to keep it on the ground - can we do that?

I’d say best back four we can put out currently, for me Connely and Skuse worked well v Sheff Weds, great to see Huws back in and seemed like he made a difference last year in similar line ups. I’d also think most people would prefer both Ward and Celina over Sears starting. Waghorn is the only choice up front if Garner is absent. Shame Folami isn’t on the bench.

With that side we will lose by three in my opinion.

Is a confusing formation.

We would of been best play a 4-0-6 and giving them a game.

Might be balanced but it looks weak to me. No McGoldrick or Garner and suddenly we look very unthreatening. Remains to be seen what kind of performance Waghorn can turn in on his own up front.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

With Garner there instead of Waghorn I think it would have been decent. A lot will depend where the three behind end up playing as I don't think Waghorn will be effective on his own.

We just need to not feck up early again and go from there....

Celina, Ward and Waghorn have barely been on the pitch at the same time and a lot relies on them hooking up.

Team with a chance for sure. Unlikely to see Celina Saturday unless he scores a hat trick or something

I should have said “very happy, given the injuries”

I'd agree with that. Ideally we'd want Garner playing but he's injured so nothing to be done about that. In Huws, Ward, Celina and Waghorn we've got players who are capable of a right quick transition from defence to attack so we should be a threat on the break. My only worry is us having enough outlets when we're under the kosh, Garner and Didz give us that.

Indeed. I'm pleased Mick seems to have settled on this formation now, although it has left us exposed in the full back areas at times I think the more we stick to it the better we'll become.
