How good is MM really? 16:54 - Jan 6 with 1832 viewswarkthisway

Whenever we need some inspiration from the Management team it doesn't happen - £2M a year and no shots on target today- no wins in the cup or the Derby since he's been here- really can we do any worse than trying a new man at the helm?

He is a good manager but we’re in a poor run of form, that has made hopes of the play-offs look slim but with 20 odd games remaining. It feels worse due to 3 factors:

1) Last season turning a lot of people against him.
2) The injury situation hitting our biggest signings of the last year and a half (aside from Garner and Waghorn) as well as our two most talented homegrown players.
3) The transfer rumours around our best player, our most naturally talented footballer, one of our own and a guy bought for buttons who’s gone out and had a real impact elsewhere just when we need a spark of our own again.

He's never been an inspirational or outwardly passionate manager, but he's not a bad one either. His strengths lie in different areas.

Further edit - and yes, those 20 odd games COULD see us fall into a relegation battle, I know.

Fair points but it doesn't alter the fact he can't turn a game round a la Royle or Burley for all the money he is paid.

He has against weaker sides in the division, not managed it this year against the contenders, I agree.

Slim? You are dreaming talking if play offs, we will do well to finish in the top half.

He's better than Keane and Jewell. That seems to satisfy far too many people.

Sheffield United are newly promoted and played their reserves - yet he still failed to turn it around.
