Disappointing but lots of positives. Some excellent football first half. Nolan took his goal superbly.
Started nervously and they hit post (Jota I think?). Then started to get into the game and midfield began to dictate play. Excellent work by Pennington and Jackson allowed Nolan in and he curled great finish beyond keeper. Good pressure followed and Pennington got on the end of a corner just before half time.
Their goal just after the break knocked us for six. We were in their half, lost ball and then got sliced apart very easily with a through ball. Good finish but we shouldn't have let them in. Could see the confidence drain from side and equaliser looked inevitable.
We did rally at end though and held on with 10 men after Pennington left with little choice but to pull man back. Could even have won it. Edwards consistently beat his man today but final ball wasn't there.
Point probably fair result. Brum looked good in patches.
Big positive today was midfield and Jackson's movement. Hurst will get it right. We must do our bit and keep backing team.

Here's my concern though.
We are decent to good in patches. We have never looked like being decent let a,one good for 90 mins.
Couple that with a lack of confidence and fragility at the back....it's a really bad receipe.
It's simply not good enough to play 15 to 25 mins of good football. It doesn't win you games. |  |

I thought the midfield was completely non-existent for the whole of the second half despite having one more man than Brum.
"Point probably fair result"? Wow. They hit the post, the bar, had two cleared off the line and created mayhem from every one of their set pieces. We did well not to concede 4 or 5. |  |
