If we’re going to get relegated anyway.... 10:05 - Oct 25 with 1752 views | Moisha | As most on here now feels is inevitable, is it not worth sticking with Hurst anyway as he already knows League 1 well?? Just putting it out there.
If we’re going to get relegated anyway.... on 10:14 - Oct 25 with 1707 views | Guthrum | He doesn't know League One that well (as a manager). Has spent less than two seasons coaching in that division. In any case, we're not inevitably going to get relegated (unless we stick with Hurst and he continues to perform as he has). Plenty of time to rescue the season if we inject some organisation and some steel now.

I hope you’re right... the longer he is kept on, the more inevitable it becomes though. A change is required and the sooner the better, whoever comes in will have a massive task to keep us up, as we leak goals, and don’t look dangerous going forward.

Not a chance he will ever put up the funds needed to even have a chance of getting us out of this.

If he wants to maximise the sale value of the club, and thus minimise his loss, then he needs to do so in this division. For that reason alone he can't afford for us to be relegated.

I don't think anyone could organise these players into anything resembling an organised & steely unit. It is a hapless mish mash of league 1 journeymen totally out of their depth. Best hope is we can pull off a couple more Swansea type shocks against complacent teams up to Christmas. Then, recruit a dogs of war type stop-gap manager who can drag some battle hardened freebies in who are up for one last crusade. Then rinse and repeat in the summer with another hungry lower league manager. Only this time, the candidate won't have any saleable assets to fund his project. We'll be lucky to recoup 50% of the outlay on the no-marks Hurst has dragged in.

It is.... but have you seen anything in the previous 14 games that can suggest we can get out of this. We can’t defend and we can’t score, at the moment we are only heading one way.

You think he's going to throw enough money at it to have just a chance to turn things around then? I don't see any evidence to suggest that is likely, I hope I'm wrong. We are so far in the hole he'd probably see any investment as just adding to next seasons problems.

They're not 'League One journymen'. None are anywhere around the age of 30, neither have they spent years trolling around the lower divisions without progress. All those we brought in from L1/L2 in the summer are youngish players on the up in their careers.

None of the new signings, apart from Edwards, has shown anything to suggest they are capable of making a career at Championship level. We need to keep in touch with 21st place until January and then get in 5 players who are battle hardened Championship standard players. A right back, centre half, midfielder and two strikers.

Disagree with that. Donacien has shown promise (particularly going forwards in the modern style), Jackson works hard. Nsiala is accident-prone but has potential. When the whole organisation and tactical system is shot, it's very difficult to see how good the players actually are. If Jackson got balls to his feet instead of over his head, or was on the receiving end of crosses rather than having to deliver them, how many goals would he have scored?

I’ve read most of your posts and you have stuck by what you say from day 1, and have always put across a good argument. He was never my choice, if going down the lower league route we should have got Nathan Jones from Luton, or Darrell Clarke from Bristol Rovers. Failing that Warburton, or stuck with Nash and Hogg.

Plenty have sides have clawed it back in less time. Its bleak but not inevitable.

Even if we injected performance enhancing drugs to this lot we would get relagated.

Relegation is only "inevitable".... on 11:46 - Oct 25 with 1361 views | Bloots | ....if PH stays. If he goes, the chances of relegation moves to "likely". He simply has to go for that reason alone.
