Trying to drink a bit less at the moment, but had to go for a post exam beer with some mates yesterday and noticed this in the fridges at Isaacs.
Was an enjoyable pint, felt like I was drinking a beer and not left out in that respect, as only so much fizzy pop that can be drunk at a time.
But £4 for a bottle seems a bit steep for a non-alcoholic beer - it always seems pointless going out when not drinking - a coke can be £3, a lime and soda even ends up that way for what is literally water and cordial - and having a shandy doesn't reduce the price of a pint. All seems strange to me |  |

Non alcoholic Ghost Ship tastes pretty much like normal Ghost Ship which is great if you like normal Ghost Ship. It’s not my first choice but OK if it’s all that’s on offer. I’ve been trying a few non-alcoholic beers in recent weeks, partly inspired by Adrian Chiles’ article in the Guardian - https://www.theguardian.com/food/2018/sep/09/adrian-chiles-top-10-alcohol-free-b
Many of them have a slightly metallic taste but are still perfectly palatable. The Sainsbury’s Czech lager is pretty good (only available in larger Sainsbury’s), Paulaner non alcoholic is good too as is Franziskaner non alcoholic Weissbier. Lidl’s own brand non alcoholic Weissbier is good and currently 69p a bottle in my local branch. Haven’t tried Beck’s Blue or Brew Dog’s Nanny State. |  | | |

I don't personally drink too much beer but all of the non-alcoholic ciders are great. Dont' drink normal Kopparberg or Old Mout over it anymore. Tastes exactly the same. |  |

Agree re lime and soda, just sometimes it ends up being cordial - either way it should cost pence. I was in one pub and had a pint and was charged 70p, at another one was £3.20!

With regards shandy... I've often had strange looks when I've ordered a bitter shandy, but asked for it with soda rather than lemonade. the benefits are that you can actually taste the flavour of the beer rather than being overpowered by lemonade, and also a lot of pubs will only charge you for the half pint of ale.
I've also found a vast difference in the price charged for lime and soda from one establishment to another. | |

I want to go under 4 hours at the London marathon. Non-alcohol beer allows me to continue to socialise and not set myself through alcohol. Erdinger alkoholfrei, nanny state and even Heineken 0 are pretty decent efforts. |  |

The Daily Mail (sorry!) did a survey at Christmas regarding non-alcoholic beers and Ghost Ship was one of thee ones tested. I came out at 5/5 and was the best one tested.
I asked Mr Bluebell why he drinks beer and his response was for the taste rather than the alcobehol in it.
We went to an Adnams shop in Suffolk and bought several bottles. He says he can't tell the difference.
It is good if we are going out for a meal in the evening. He can drink the non- alcohol ones beforehand and then have a 'proper' beer with his meal and still be able to drive home.
Not something he would do through choice but on occasions he is happy to do that. |  | | |

Becks Blue is good as is Erdinger
Sainsbury's own Czech lager is excellent & reasonable at £1.00 for 600ml
