On what rational analysis is crashing out with no deal a better outcome than seeking a delay? This is just reckless self-interest on his part.

A lot of the hard-line Brexiteers seem to be in an absolute tearing rush, willing to discard all precautions in order to leave ASAP.

Could it be they fear that if more than a couple of years are allowed to pass, Trump may no longer be in the White House and able to export his brand of low-regulatory, unscrupulous, feed-the-rich "wealth creation"?

I think that is probably one consideration. I think they are also starting to see that there is a ground swell around a softer Brexit or a second referendum which they aren't confident they'd win. They'd rather leave now at any cost than risk not leaving.

Yep. A number of this lot either benefit themselves from maximum disruption or are influenced/funded by people who do. It's not in their personal interests to be in the EU or have stability. And sod the rest of us.

Agree with your sentiment, but think you've worded your op incorrectly.

Fox preaching about abusing the public trust is just a massive piss take.
