Now here's a decision for you 11:32 - May 8 with 3443 viewsWarkTheWarkITFC

You are Paul Lambert and Marcus Evans tells you that have to pick 18 players to keep for next season, which you can add 4 signings of your choosing to. Obviously, the loan players have now returned to their parent clubs.

You are selecting players to keep from those who featured, were on the bench or were long term injured this season. Everyone else must be released. Any youths that did not feature would form part of the backup players.

Which players do you pick?

I would retain:

Bialkowski / Wright
Kenlock / Donacien / Chambers / Nsiala / Woolfenden
Edwards / Nolan / Dozzell / Bishop / Downes / Judge
Jackson / Sears / Harrison / Lankester / El Mizouni

Signings would be:

A left back, defensive midfield enforcer, out and out left winger and an experienced League One striker

This leaves the released players as:

Gerken
Emmanuel / Knudsen / Spence / Collins
Skuse / Nydam / Rowe / Ward / Roberts / Huws / Adeyemi / Dawkins
Folami / Morris

I'd try and keep Rowe. Not fussed on Chambo, he's a liability

Otherwise, I agree.

Why would we have to release Emmanuel, Nydam, Folami and Morris

All very young and would be on low wages.

Additionally, it isn't as easy as lets just release players unless they are out of contract.

I can see most players staying on, with the exception of Gerken, Spence, Collins, Knudsen, Dawkins and probably Adeyemi

Poll: Mick in or out? (not a dig at Mick just want to see the overall opinion on here)

You cannot release players under contract unless by mutual agreement which normally means you pay them the wages and bonuses they would otherwise have earned. You may negotiate a lower figure if they have another contract with another club lined up.

You could make them available for transfer but that does not mean they will leave the club.

I believe that Emmanuel / Skuse / Nydam / Rowe / Roberts / Huws / Folami / Morris are all under contract for next season at least.

If this is presuming none of these would then get sold.

Bart
Emmanuel, Chambers, Nsiala, Woolfenden, Donacien, Knudsen
Nolan, Bishop, Downes, Dozzell
Edwards, Judge, Rowe, Lankester
Harrison, Jackson, Sears

JD would cover the full back slots nicely, personally I prefer Jonas over Kenlock but obviously we will see how he does next season. Sorry to Skusey but the other midfielders are all progressing whilst he is now 33. Also sorry to El Mizouni but i'd have Rowe in front of him and not really sure why he hasn't been given a fair crack here.

Sign a striker, another winger with Judge moving to the middle if required, another defensive midfielder and goalkeeper.

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

Theres no way he will pick Donacien over Emmanuel.

I dont know much about Folami and Morris, but I have heard Joe from here talk very highly of Nydam and Morris, so I would be tempted to keep them.

Huws will be amazing IF fit, so I would also keep him if there was any positive news from the physio.

We have two experienced League One strikers in Sears and Harrison.

....to be honest, I'm just causing problems and not answering your question!

Would be really interested to know how Rowe has played at Lincoln and what the fans view on him is.

They love him! One comment I saw mentioned how he was even better this time round (although obviously as a team they've improved too)

I don't think you quite get hypothetical questions do you?

Any way. If you HAD to sleep with a celebrity of the same sex who would it be?

Yes I know all this.

It's a hypothetical question to determine who people would keep and not keep.

Adding in contractual caveats, wage budgets, potential suitors, living requirements, how settled their families are and the inconvenience of rehoming the school mascot was deemed too complicated.

Emmanuel, Skuse,Rowe and Roberts contracted until June 2020 and Nydam,Huws, Folami and Morris until June 2021-as you say you cannot release players under contract unless mutually agreed.

Has anyone actually read the OP?

This is what I would do if I was in charge. Sorry I didn't make it implicitly clear that me being Paul Lambert entails holding all of Paul Lambert's views and not my own.

David Beckham.

I'd be minted off the back of the kiss and tell.

I could maybe end up masturbating a pig on Channel 5's The Farm.

Why didn't you say it was a hypothetical questions that in no way could happen?

I'd get rid of Chambers, Adeyemi, Knudsen, Collins and Spence

I'd bring in

Salah
Messi
Aguero
and Trent Alexander Arnold.

Better?

If you need any help with the pig I've got a few videos on my phone.

Edit... I bought the phone second hand off a mate.

These are people with families you are speaking about; not machines or chess pieces.

However, allowing for that there's not much balance to your squad.

As for dropping Skuse - you want an Enforcer on your wish list - there'll be a host of League One clubs wishing for Skuse.

Which is exactly why I'd replace him with a better model.

We need the League One equivalent of Magilton. Micky Doyle a few years ago would have been perfect.

There has to be someone in there that can dictate a game either with passing or by breaking play up. Skuse was great at that a few years ago but has declined so much I don't think he'd be superb in League One.

Crikey. I'm not sure Skuse is as good as you think.
