FF sums it up perfectly in his first sentence:

"They are the owners of the land and they can do whatever they want."

That's all that needs to be said - end the article there!

It is still a semi working port which is fantastic.

Tough titties.

"Residents of the waterfront block of flats in Anchor Street"

Let me fix that for them.

'Residents of the waterfront block of flats in Wanchor Street'.

That's better.

Can't see that Anglo Norden have done anything wrong.

In fairness to them they were sold a pup, we did up the Ship Launch pub down there back in 2005/6 time when the flats were being built and Anglo Norden were moving out at the end of next year, and I think the flats were sold with that info.

Because it didn't happen for whatever reason the pub never took off (think it is a Chinese now) and the flats still have a view they weren't expecting.

What's most disappointing about this story is that there's no 'angry person pointing' photo.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Standard. Years ago some new money types bought a picture postcard country pile next to my scenic old Cricket Club.

....Then promptly got the lawyers involved because they didn't like cricket happening so close to their house....

It's like people buying a house on the estates that have sprung up in the last 2-3 decades around Foxhall Stadium - and then complaining about the noise from the motor sport.

Foxhall Stadium has been open for at least twice as long as the majority of those houses have been there.

Same happened at Mildenhall and think bulldozers and smashed property were the result.
