I found him to be a calming and calculated player.
I sensed he could offer more but was just playing to the same level as his teammates.

I think this comes back to what Lee O'Neil was getting at in his interview. It's not necessarily just finances that are stopping getting deals done (though in Bree's case I expect it would have been a factor if we were interested). The fact is we are now a League 1 club and so we are automatically a less attractive proposition than any side in the two divisions above for many players. It's not easy to persuade decent players to drop down to the third tier. The transfer window closing for the top 2 tiers may help in that some players now have fewer options, although I believe free agents can still sign for anyone and Championship sides have a few more weeks to do loan deals. | |
