I don't do the technical side on Blue Monday but ours are just video calls recorded on Skype with headsets on and they are then uploaded to Youtube and podcast servers.

Obviously need to get the settings right etc

If you want to go high level, I would be looking at a blue snowball mic. They are about £40- £100... really good mics. I highly recommend.

TBF I found the Snowball was a big waste of time and over hyped. A Rode USB mic is much better, thought really all USB mics are inferior to pinned mics in a mixer, but at that point you're worrying about putting ribbon on a turd if y'aint very good at it.

I have a Tascam thing kicking about which I think would be good for quality.
