Not allowed to head a ball in schools anymore. 14:06 - Feb 24 with 1186 viewsPecker

Government announced it today. Causes dementia apparently. Might explain why I can't remember how to spell potato's.

Is it not just schools in Scotland?

Presumably trying to take heading out the game so they don't produce another Paul Lambert.

Even Scotland is ashamed of him.

Poll: How many points from 18 would Lambert need to have to actually be sacked?

This is the Suffolk FA stance (aimed at grassroots football)

http://www.suffolkfa.com/news/2020/feb/24/updated-heading-guidance-announced?fbc

'Although there was no evidence in the FIELD study to suggest that heading the ball was the cause to the link with incidence of degenerative neurocognitive disease, to mitigate against any potential risks, the updated Heading Guidance has been produced in parallel with UEFA’s Medical Committee, which is seeking to publish Europe-wide guidelines later this year. The Irish FA and the Scottish FA will also adopt the same Heading Guidance. '

probably a good thing if only that it encourages young players to keep the ball on the deck. I remember Arnold Muhren saying that he spent his first few games watching the ball sail over his head

It's just in training and they will also use a lighter ball.

I heard a piece on R4 earlier and it made sense.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

"to mitigate against any potential risks"

and there you have it in a nutshell

though I doubt it will stop the 'political correctness' gone made brigade, or 'the 'all health and safety now' nuts from bleating away as they chew through the Daily Mail

the reality is that regulation and conytrols are no more that business, schools etc taking action (whoever silly it might appear) to avoid liability now or in further down the line

ie if we did not let customers smoke staff cannot claim they were not protected

unsurprisingly it is often those that bleat the loudest are those that carry 'no win, no fee' adverts - and it has provided one huge amount of stupidity for the brexit dimwits to hold against the EU

who apparent;y stopped fish and chips being wrapped in newspaper.... along with the ban on cucumber flavoured hedgehogs and the Queen owning corgis (true)

Complete codswallop, couldn’t use the more appropriate word! Footballs these days are balloons. Get a bloody grip. We’ll be producing a thousand Will Keane’s!

Is this restricted to footballs only or does it apply the same to volleyballs and beach balls?
