It’s like we f*ck it up, wait a while to not raise suspicion then roll it out later whilst saying we “followed the science” and “took the right measures at the right times”. Anyone still buying that sh1t by the way here? I’d genuine be curious to hear the defence.

Our last three PMs have somehow managed to go from Jewell to Lambert and skip a competent Mick era out altogether. BUT the football IS better now..

Rearrange these words into a well-known phrase or saying. on 07:44 - May 9 with 1981 views | Guthrum | That does make sense if we were entering the post domestic infection phase of the disease (i.e. after it's been virtually eradicated within the UK). In that situation, most new cases are people entering the country, rather than catching it when already here. We're not anywhere close to that yet. So I think it's more jumping the gun than shutting the stable door.

If we’d put quarantine in place for all those returning from abroad by late February we might have been in a position to limit the number of cases here to begin with. By 25th February a leaked government report was stating half a million could die of something wasn’t done. It’s as though this government is on a six week delay.

Agreed. The government is incompetent and ought to have been quarantining new arrivals, especially from Italy, Spain and China, months ago but since they didn't do that there's been relatively little point in quarantine since community transmission became rife. Quarantine will be useful once we've got the numbers significantly down as you say, it'll stop us importing new infections at a point where there are few infections happening domestically.

We have plenty of places to put people detained for quarantine. Empty out Yarls Wood if necessary. Or use some of the currently empty Travelodges.

Yes, but those are practical, dull, involve genuine proper, ongoing work and time putting in and don't look good in pressers. Even then, the Nightingales haven't been the success the PR would have it look - huge buildings housing very few patients that we've been unable to staff properly(not entirely surprising as we can't staff the hospitals we HAVE got effectively). This government is the Paul Lambert of governments. [Post edited 10 May 2020 7:14]

That's quite painful, in terms of an inability to speak clearly in public.
