I’m not for one second suggesting they haven’t some decent players, nor do I think tomorrow will be an easy run out by any stretch, but I still don’t think they have more quality than us. |
I think we'll be coming back down to earth with a bump again. We'll do really well to make Playoffs this season but we are hardly busting at the seems with quality ourselves overall.
Wigan still has a few decent players despite everything, the idea that they are going to turn up and roll over against a side who couldn't even match Arsenals kids this week is not really living in the reality of where we are as a club right now. Last seasons table didn't lie, neither did the few few months of last season. Our manager is a has been and our team is the level it finished in this league, we're a third division outfit and that won't change for a while yet.

Joe Garner? Kai Naismith? Gary Roberts? Josh Clarke? Tom Pearce? Jamie Jones? Lee Evans? Danny Fox? Any of them would easily get into our squad and possibly the first XI (definitely Clarke due to KVY’s injury, Pearce and Garner, possibly Jones, Naismith and Roberts too plus I wouldn’t rule Evans out of the running)
What they don’t have is strength in depth but that isn’t a concern for the opening match of the season. | |
