Loan-to-Buy deals 10:38 - Sep 21 with 783 viewsuefacup81

What's the reasoning behind them?

BBC were saying during the match last night that Leicester have agreed to sign Cengiz Ãœnder on a loan-to-buy deal from Roma, and there's also the talk that the Aarons to Barcelona deal fell through because Barcelona weren't prepared to commit to buy him at the end of the loan.

I can understand if there's no obligation, in a try-before-you-buy sort of sense, but why would you enter into such a deal with an obligation to buy at the end? Would it be something to do with salaries and the like?
