Sunderland - one point off us with a game in hand 00:13 - Nov 4 with 1151 views | pointofblue | And have already played Peterborough, Charlton and Portsmouth as well as us, losing to just one of them. I don't care how unlucky we were tonight, we wouldn't be able to say the same thing as we're completely incapable of getting results against the top teams. We've played three potential top six sides so far this season and lost to them all - nothing has changed.

We can do more agreed, but we have to bear in mind that officials are not our friends in these big games. Indeed, they actively seem to try and damage us in games.

You also have to remember, Norwood, Downes and KVY to come back (we hope)

We shouldn't be relying on the officials, if our squad is good enough then we need to be winning these games ourselves through our own good play, but we rarely do and that's the concern. Even up to Dozzell's sending off had we done enough ourselves to win? Probably not, we're still so toothless as an attacking threat and often will make a mistake defensively at a crucial time which gifts the opposition victory. [Post edited 4 Nov 2020 7:29]

We didn't really deserve anything from the Lincoln game in fairness. It was looking like fizzling out into a 0-0, we never looked like actually scoring a goal. And they could easily have been a couple of goals up in the first 10 minutes. Even last night, it was a better performance against a below par Sunderland but we were hardly battering them and creating loads of chances. One good chance for Lankester and that was about it aside from the goal.

One dimensional, no real pace and clearly heavily reliant on Whyke (ala Lincoln a few seasons ago) That they've played 10 men for nearly an hour in their last two matches and didn't look better than Gillingham until MacDonald was sent off is pretty telling to me. Let's see if we can pick up a win against Shrewsbury and then see how we do at Hull. That Sunderland game should be written off as plain bad luck.

We gifted them the first, but other than that it looked like we could have been there until Saturday and they still wouldn't have had another shot on goal. Their back line didn't look solid either. There's nothing to fear there, as long as we stop contributing to our own downfall.

Then let's take 2 points from the draws. But of course, we can't do that because the officials fck us over. The opposition wouldn't have got the wins without the leg-up from the officials, so arguably deserve the wins less than we did for the victory over Crewe, where we dug in and battled for the win against sides who weren't seeing their momentum checked by poor officiating or big-game changing decisions.

Below par Sunderland .... come on that’s their normal standard , they are not a great team , just a big name in this division, a little like ourselves ! | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Sunderland - one point off us with a game in hand on 11:34 - Nov 4 with 700 views | SuffolkPOSH | Sunderlands position flatters them Not only did they get 2 extra points against you due to a doggy ref decision late on they also got a late penalty against Posh after another dodgy decison to get 3 points. I followed the game via the Sunderland forum and the general consensus was that Posh were the better team and deserved the win and they particularly praised Siriki Dembele. The majority of the Sunderland fans were unimpressed by their own team and many want a change of management and a change in they negative style. Their strikers were also heavily criticised. Sunderland should really be a lot stronger in this league but have under performed for several years and I wouldn't be surprised if they do that again this season.
