£5 says he doesn't start more than 1 youngster tomorrow.

The guy is a hypocrite through and through.

Erm, but he has been starting them. Plus a 19 year old and a 22 year old at centre back.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

A 19 year old that isn't our player and won't be at the end of the season?

And Woolfenden is probably the other one, who's barely had a look in all season?

What about the countless other examples where he hasn't played youngsters?

You're struggling here aren't you fella?

Woolfenden's been injured. He would've started the season otherwise.
You didn't say anything about whether they would be here at the end of the season.
The trio from the story have all regularly started.
Even Simpson's had game time and he's only 16.

Your little rant doesn't quite fit the facts.

Tbf Dollers, Lambert is moaning about the lack of game time for our young players, but over his 2 years here he has largely overlooked them to play the likes of Nolan and Judge. I'm sure I saw a stat that the average age of our team was one of the oldest in the division last year.

Last year we were literally one of the lowest in the league for minutes given to youth players.

But this year we aren't.

Surely best to use the most recent and thus up-to-date information rather than using historical data in order to support a pre-motivated rant?

We'll see come tomorrow what the squad looks like.

Tomorrow's squad is irrelevant as it's a cup tie which bears no resemblance to the teams picked for league matches and the composition of them doesn't really fit with your original post.

He's complaining that they've not had enough league starts so far in their career. Unless I'm missing something he's been the manager for most (or a significant chunk) of Lankester's and Dozzell's senior careers. And both Dozza and especially the Bish have missed the rest through injury. I'm not sure it shows something is structurally wrong.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I was just responding to the OP's assertion that we don't play youngsters.

Lankester's been injured for at least a year, possibly more? I agree on Dozzell though. I'd have played him more (even if several on here said at the time they wouldn't as he drifted out of games too much).

Yeah, Lankey has missed a bit through injury too hasn't he. Hopefully he'll get a bit more of a run now, although he's been fairly quiet in the games he's played this season imo.

Apart from the last one where he scored and should've had two!

He's coming back from injury so wouldn't have been up to speed in the earlier games (and Lambo was using him more sparingly because of coming back from injury).

Other than Dozzell, and maybe a bit more of Dobra, I think Lambert's got it about right with the youngsters (although someone like Joe will have more of an insight there). I was quite surprised he put his faith in TWO young centre backs, but they seem to have coped alright. Helps having Chambo and Wardy either side of them.

When you think McGuinness is still only 19, he's gonna be one hell of a player!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Was an odd comment, but could he have been referring to the club's inability to keep them fit, though?

'A bit'?!
Without stress fractures to his back he would have been a regular I'm sure - and possibly no longer here.

That's a bet you're likely to lose I would say - he's going to play a few of the kids for sure, I expect Dobra, Ndaba, maybe McGavin, at a minimum no?

Very much disagree with your last sentence. Effectively two assists against Bristol Rovers, goal the other night, hit the bar against Gillingham I think it was. Created what seemed to be our best opening at Lincoln.

Considering he had such a ridiculous time away from football he's been pretty impressive, and while playing in different positions. He's not exactly a flying winger so it's interesting to see him playing a midfield role.

£5 for what? Literally the only youngster playing is McGavin.

Please tell me you aren't counting other club's players that will be gone at the end of the season.

I'm just going by your OP. Doesn't say anything about players who might be gone at the end of the season (we have plenty of our own who might do that).

Brett McGavin 20
Keanan Bennetts 21
Mark McGuinness 19
Myles Kenlock 23

£5 please.

There is no way in hell someone who turns 24 in 2 weeks is a youngster anymore.

Clearly it is about our own players? Our youngsters have actual contracts that go beyond 6 months from now...
