Remind me of us when we went down in terms of a club that lack goals in the team and have been poor with their recruitment.

Ethan Ampadu isn’t ready for the Prem. The two full backs from Derby were squad fillers but haven’t improved the 11. Brewster cost £20m, but he’s another who isn’t ready for the Prem.

Just shows how important recruitment is but how crucial it is to hold on to your goal scorers if you had one - mistakes we’ve made by letting Murphy and Garner/Waghorn go in summer windows which ultimately cost us in those seasons to push on.

Throw in the fact Ramsdale isn’t a patch on Dean Henderson in the Blades’ goal too, but as you rightly say they look utterly toothless up front. If you can’t score goals, you won’t win games. Isn’t it 8 leagues goals all season?

They look much more hopeless than we did, I would say. They really have no cutting edge at all but also look pretty flat footed at the back and always likely to let a goal or two in. They aren't bad between the boxes but that won't take you very far. If ever a side looked utterly doomed to relegation it's this Sheffield United side.

They didn't actually lose any forward players in the Summer though, did they? I think Henderson's loan ending was the only major one...

I agree - I don’t think Ramsdale is a bad keeper either but he’s conceded a few this season which should be saved, and as you say, he’s not as good as Dean Henderson either.

Not sure how many they have scored, but they didn’t score many last season either, just played with more intensity and had won more games by slim margins.

Lost their intensity, not enough goals from the forwards they have, no goals from midfield (Lundstrum and Fleck chipped in last season) and leak too many defensively. Horror season this all over.

No they didn’t, but I think they have 6 strikers at the club and only Brewster you’d look at maybe and think he’d be capable of getting double figures, but he isn’t up to Prem standard yet.

They’ll breeze the Championship though.

They are playing safe all over the pitch due to a lack of confidence. Hope they keep Wilder he deserves a chance to get them going again.

I feel for Wilder, I really do. At the end of the game tonight you could tell he was out of ideas. I have the impression a lot of the 2nd season transfer dealings were out of his hand and he had to manage a team built in the board room.

They looked absolutely shot today - bereft of confidence, movement and ideas. They could have played all week & not scored. They remind more of Town's hopeless relegation side of 1994-95.

Agreed, although we're in a worse spot now, the way that season went was much more harrowing from the perspective of watching the players.

Signs were there at the back end of last season. They finished the season on a string of defeats.

How can you only have two points from almost half a season. Got to be some sort of record.

17 without a win from the start of a top flight season hasn't been done for over a hundred years. A new 'premier league' record.

A mixture of rotten luck with injuries combined with poor recruitment seems to have done them in. Plus they lost the momentum they'd been fueling themselves on for over 2 years or so, which I imagine is pretty difficult to get back.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
