Chambers & Skuse released... on 14:28 - May 10 with 1567 views | pointofblue | It’s odd - why do I feel a bit emotional about this? It’s the right decision, it was obviously going to happen, but feels like a sad day all the same. Thank you to both for everything they’ve done for the club. EDIT: ‘For’, not ‘of the’! I'm the same. For all that Chambo in particular gave to the club, on the pitch or off it, it would have been great for them to have been around to see at least a year of things going back in the right direction - but time's caught up, if only this all could have happened at least a year earlier.
Chambers & Skuse released... on 14:33 - May 10 with 1415 views | jeera | Good to get that out of the way so at least it's put to bed. Good luck to each of them but it signals a time to move on. Things do need freshening up all round.

Chambers & Skuse released... on 14:37 - May 10 with 1336 views | Dubtractor | Probably the right decision, but both have been great pros for us and deserve our well wishes for the future. Hopefully they will get the chance to play at Portman Road again, with a crowd there, so we can give them a proper thank you.

Chambers & Skuse released... on 14:39 - May 10 with 1310 views | clive_baker | Thanks for your efforts over the years, both been good servants and wish them all the best for the future. If either of them cut their teeth in coaching or management I wouldn't rule them out of coming back into the dugout at some stage. That said, if this is to be a new dawn then I think it's for the best, probably for all parties. A fresh start and a clean slate.

Your second paragraph answers the first question I think. I think it was probably Wilnis, Magilton and Naylor who were last here over such a long period. Sears isn't far off to be fair to him. That longevity really stands out when, looking at the Connolly link, there might only be Dozzell in the first team squad who he played with here - and that was only three years ago.

Chambers & Skuse released... on 14:50 - May 10 with 1192 views | JakeITFC | Pretty much ever presents in a sustained period of awfulness for this club, I think it is an important breakpoint for them to go. Probably unfair based on their service for the club, but hopefully these are players that we barely remember when we look back in a decade or so.

Yes, true although him leaving mid-season for the US wasn't quite the same. Too good an opportunity for Tommy to turn down the way Chambers has described it.

Chambers & Skuse released... on 14:58 - May 10 with 1110 views | itfcjoe | Actually a bit sad seeing it confirmed, even though think totally understandable. Two proper players and people, we'll miss them. Before Mick came in, I can't remember the last player to get to 100 games, the stability he brought was vital to the club, a shame that strong foundation was totally wasted

Chambers & Skuse released... on 15:34 - May 10 with 858 views | Garv | I feel we might regret Chambers leaving. Needs a big signing in the summer to replace him, and it would have been brilliant to get him to 10 years, with potential for success at the end of it. At the same time change is needed, so in that sense it seems right. Just a shame to see him go. I feel much less emotional about Skuse, though again he's proved a great servant to the club so he goes with a lot of respect and good wishes.
