Had this film on as background noise whilst reading the news and this here forum.

Film features Arthur Askey, Did James, Bernard Cribbins and others involved in a guerrilla marketing campaign, getting ads on "National" TV, a station that doesn't run ads...

Is this the first example of guerrilla advertising? Shirley it was an American idea?

The Wiki article indicates the idea comes from a book in 1984, none of which appears as "extreme" as in the 1959 film, which is more in keeping with Heineken's use of Dutch(?) fans during 2018 WC - a tournament sponsored by Budweiser
