....at the TWTDers.

After every match this season there has been pages of threads about how crap Paul Cook and the team are. When we do win ....... nothing.

I would like to complement Paul and the team for the win and am delighted that the monkey is off our back. In a very sad personal time for him this is a great boost and hopefully will unleash the true potential of the team. Well done Paul Cook, well done Ipswich Town team.

Agreed. It’s a standard and familiar pattern. You’d have thought a win but would be a greater vent than a defeat but it appears not and people just like a good moan. I can only assume it’s because most don’t attend so it’s easy to moan and speculate than it is to praise or critique.

Spot on… Cook also needs some praise for dealing with his grief. To lose his father not go home to see his family whilst we are having a difficult start on the pitch must be really tough. He clearly has some real inner strength and I really hope he has a few days out to spend some time to grieve.

Does it matter? Not to me. Ipswich won and that is all that should matter to anybody on here.

I didn’t express concern about PC after 1 or 2 matches, it was only after 4 ot 5 of things not improving. So whilst I’m hugely relieved and pleased we go a win yesterday I’m. Ot going to start hanging the flags out to hail him yet. This result needs to be backed up with a few more wins and improved performances very quickly - then I will reassess how I feel. At the moment one swallow doesn’t make a summer.

So it’s, well done Cook and the team, but we really do need to build on this.

You’re absolutely right to point out the quietness from many and almost the slower post traffic following us getting a win finally

Indeed a poll last week had almost 60% (17 posters) saying he should go ALREADY!!! And quite a few saying they weren’t sure ,which is also damning!

I’m certainly a supporter of Cook, and I’ve almost double ddown on that given the emotion but also clarity in his recent interviews, and also interviews with Burns and Morsy. Also it’s 19 new players into a club that has been fundamentally broken for a decade.

BUT, that Bolton display was extremely worrying, we looked like our heads had gone, and there was no plan, the Cook system also looked loose. It’s also difficult for many fans to dismiss the poor form of cooks reign at the back end of last season. A few fans are also struggling to embrace Cook after the way he cleared the decks of favourites such as Chambers.

Furthermore, Lincoln had a lot of possession second half and a Sheff Weds, Sunderland or a Wigan wouldn’t have let us off the hook.

It’s a start, it’s a platform. Let’s see where it leads. There will be further bumps along the way.

But as long as we’re building a team to be proud of and driving up the table, to a hopeful play off spot, then it’s good. Automatic was not some god given right.

My criteria for cook ‘staying’ was a must win by Doncaster.,.. we’ve done better, and I’m expecting Town to lay down a marker on that Tuesday night under the lights.

I always find this impulse straight after a win to come and jab your finger at other supporters for their lack of faith deeply strange. There's plenty of positive comment on here about yesterday and it's easy enough to find.

One win does not make everything OK. People are justified in questioning Cook and the team given the performances at the begining of this season and the write off last year.

Those that are satisfied with the occasional win as validation that the corner is turned and things are building/going in the right direction are frankly, delusional. Questioning all those expressing concern are wrong by inferrence that as there isn't an outpouring of support after one win means it is some sort of validation that people are fickle/only happy moaning blah, blah blah is tripe.

Paul Cook and this team have to earn the respect of the fan base by better performances and consistently winning games.

BTW yesterday's result was the best all round performance of the season, but it needs to be built on.

to be fair. I posted a balanced positive Well Done Paul Cook Post yesterday. You'd have to be heartless not to have felt Cook's pain over the last 2 weeks.

But it's a small step in the right direction (as the man said himself) and there have been a lot of missteps before it.

I hope he keeps going forward. But one good result doesn't write off all the bad ones. As I said this one felt big. But it has to be maintained to be meaningful

A bit of an apology to the group. I was away yesterday at a family memorial event and returned late. I checked TWTD on my phone and saw the win and then checked the forum. There was no threads about the match so I reacted to that. My post was duplicated several times so there obviously was a problem with the phone. Looking at the site today on a laptop I see I was incorrect that there had not been a response to the win. It is only a half apology however because I don't think we have given proper acknowledgement to the mammoth task Paul Cook has to get us back on the rails.
