They attempted to literally run the ball through the centre of our midfield and were stopped on the edge of our box. Whilst it was a cute little play, it illustrated how easy they thought it was to run through us tonight.
We were slow, sideways and lacked any kind of forward threat and were lucky to only concede two. If they’d been better finishers, it could have been our turn to be on the end of a Wycombe type result.
They clearly targeted Clement and yet we did nothing to protect him - other than sub him off. For a squad of this quality and a club with our ambition, it was a really poor showing.
Cook needs to settle on a side and get them drilled if we’re to mount any kind of challenge. |  |
