Players welfare and safety not taken seriously:

And on the other the vaccine situation for players isn't simple:

Surely players must take ownership and responsibility for their own health, safety and wellbeing as much as anyone else.

It is good that there has been no high profile professional footballer suffered career- (or life-)ending consequences from the virus. However, I think that if there had been, there may well be a far higher take-up of the vaccines. Considering how much they must do with their bodies to overcome injuries and play through them etc, it is very disappointing how many won't accept a vaccine.

Especially as they could pass it on to their families, who i`m pretty sure, most won`t be as fit as they are

Not just them, but their support staff as well.

I mean, think how we'd feel if Kieron Dyer with his current health problems contracted it from an unjabbed player, for example.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

That's the thing isn't it?

I have had this conversation with one or two people who fall into a particular bracket who are young, healthy, fancy their chances against everything...invincible.

But what about the people who brought them into the world, and their grandparents, those who have clothed them, fed them, given them money, treated them, spoiled them rotten over their upbringing, helped them into and through their education and set them up for life?

No mention or a thought given.

By all accounts players are playing too much football, and therefore are probably too stressed and injured to get vaccinated (according to some apparently). Others say they have others problems due to boredom (gambling etc). Can’t have it both ways.

Anyway, hopefully another multi-millionaire player will do his dirty washing in public rather than using his employer and union to get it sorted.
