Elkan was excellent in his one senior appearance against Gillingham in a cup game, and played 7 times for Kings Lynn ; but doesn’t seem to be close to the first team.
I know he’s been away on international duty (6 senior Indonesian appearances now)
But I really thought he’d be challenging Burgess for the Sun spot
Is he training with the first team? He’s wasn’t in the U23s at Cardiff.
Any thoughts welcome?

Cook wanted to give him a game at the end of last season, but they were unsure exactly what loan he was on at Kings Lynn. Cook genuinely rated him really highly, and I think the aim was to push him on with the first team this season …. Although not sure what McKennas plans with him now are. |  |

Is one good Cup game against a weakened Gillingham team and some games for Kings Lynn enough to put him in the picture?
If he’s that good, a better loan than Kings Lynn is a better platform. Ndaba looks next in line to make that step up next season. He’s had to go out and impress whilst on loan and surely that’s the best route for Baggott.
I would have thought offloading Toto means we’re opening up a spot to bring in a new CB. |  | | |

Yeah people seem quick to forget Cotter, who had a similarly good cameo but was nowhere near up to it.

CB is a position in which players breakthrough slightly later in terms of their age due to the physicality, mentality and importance of the position. I would read nothing into Baggott not featuring on the bench this season.
What would be great for Baggot is a loan to a struggling league 2 side for the second half of the season, where he'll play on boggy pitches, do lots of defending and be around grizzled old senior pros. The club did this with Woolfenden, but should look to get more young players out on loan. Too frequently in the past have they put on an ITFC shirt without earning the right to.
Ndaba will come back a different player and probably make a contribution next season. He's enjoyed a good loan spell, despite recent injuries. | | | |

It was suggested that a number of Premier League clubs were looking at him, although I'm not sure how much credence to give some of those reports or the extent of any interest. Needs to go out on loan again and play more men's football at this stage. | | | |

Definitely one to try and get a loan I'd say. Seems to be working for Ndaba and Simpson who might be a little ahead of him but some league 2/National League football will really help him. |  |

Theres so much cash sloshing about in the Prem that they are constantly looking in the lower leagues for anyone with the slightest sniff that they *might* make it.
Then when they don't they slide back down the leagues again. A la, Charlie Brown. |  |

Was a year ago that there was apparently the interest when they could have picked him up prior to him signing his pro deal. They will have watched him, of course. I did hear at the time that Everton were the most interested of the Premier League clubs. | | | |

Not sure why he would be. 1 Mickey mouse game against Gillingham and a few for Kings Lynn are a million miles away from senior action in L1. Burgess has got 200+ appearances under his belt and 7 years on Baggott. Certainly seems like a bright prospect but he's only 19, which is very young. The best thing he could do is spend a decent chunk of time somewhere on loan where he'll play and be around a 1st team environment, same as Dobra. |  |
