Those at the game today 20:15 - Feb 19 with 1531 views | FrimleyBlue | And not watching via ifollow in our Saturday holiday homes on Holland ;) Was there any shape difference to our backline that we couldn't see on I follow. I'm really intrigued what changed between HT and 2nd half. When Burton attacked 2nd half it was almost as if they'd walked into a wall of blue which wasn't their first half. So just interested to know if you noticed any big differences that were noticeable on the tele.

The throw in "air assaults" got shorter and shorter along with the fact we dealt with them better and blunted their effectiveness.. between the 2nd and 3rd goals we looked a very very good outfit and the confidence just oozed through the team.. Wolf is becoming a very important player who now believes in himself and Fridge is looking more solid again. JD is a very important outlet if things get tight. I am very encouraged.

Mills said about as much but seemed unable to put his finger on exactly what it was. Maybe just a more defensive mindset generally but without becoming totally backs to the wall so that they had to worry about our threat which ultimately was too much for them anyway.

Evans was much deeper than Morsy too, offering a bit more protection to the back 3. Morsy was much more advanced and regularly bombing on which probably prevented their centre mids from getting forward as much too. Finally I think the front 3 were tweaked (Jackson and Aluko either side of Pig, whereas first half pig & Jackson seemed to be a 2) which would have pinned their full-backs a bit more. So no big change as such, just a lot of very astute tweaks.

Same happened last week at MK. Mills is an astute, experienced pundit, but doesn't spot the subtle changes (not do I, but I make no claim to understand the game). Second half we were irresistibly good. Brenner's commentary was excellent btw.

I think that's what impresses me most. It's all very well knowing how to stop the opposition in theory, but being able to communicate that so effectively during a match with just a few instructions is very impressive.

They definitely ran out of steam . Which meant they couldn’t get close us down quick enough and as we continued to pass the ball about they way we do, they were simply chasing shadows. Not sure when Burton scored their goals v Bolton but seems like they throw the kitchen sink st teams in the first period of the first half which goes the damage . Town were really rocking defensively yesterday in that first 25 mins but held firm nonetheless. Brilliant display by us … I think Burton will batter Sunderland.
