Burns 08:16 - Jun 2 with 950 viewsBobsthename

I’m wondering if we can go a month and a half maybe without his contribution to the team in November i wish him well but deep down i would rather he played for us than Wales in November our need is more than theirs let’s hope Ukraine get pip the welsh we must be selfish for the sake of the team.
Sorry Wes but if the Welsh win i’m wanting you here rather than Qatar.

Let's hope Ukraine beat Wales. Losing Burns for a month or so in the middle of the season could be crucial for our promotion chances.

The Premier League will finish on the weekend of the 13th/14th November. The group matches for Wales/Ukraine will be 21st-29th November. Potentially it may only be two weekend's worth of matches (plus any that are midweek). International weekends could also be a problem.

Anyway, this is all based on Wales qualifying and Burns getting selected.

Just look at it as a mid-season break for Wes. Unused squad player / fringe player who might get a few minutes. Keeps him fresh for the second half of the season. KVY / Edwards to deputise in his absence.

Firstly, I'm cheering Ukraine regardless....
Secondly, I'm pretty sure that KM will fix the "heavy reliance" on our right hand side, so we are less of a 1 trick pony..
Third, I recon KVY or even Edwards would be decent enough back up .
Fourth, We can't flog Wes for the entire season, anyway. So we need to expect him out the side now and then..
Hope he plays a blinder for Wales, but they fall short.. Imo, he could do with a bit of a rest up, mentally and physically... Long season ahead... He'll do well to replicate last seasons performances, imo... He's gonna get doubled up on, and booted about, no doubt.. He's a gem though, and we're lucky to have him...

Get KVY back to his original fitness / form levels I think he’d solve our left wing back problem..

I would say it's a massive, massive gamble that if KVY was unable to replicate that 8 game form nearly 3 years prior where he played on the right-side (not left-side), we'd be screwed. Why not just go and source a proper made-to-measure LWB who's capable of playing 40 games a season. No need to solve anything in-house because we're in a transfer window, we have a decent budget and we're only looking for a few player's to bring in - with LWB a big priority. Let's not complicate things any further.

Personally think KVY will be sold this summer. There comes a point where you have to look at his long term contribution and since that first injury he just hasn't been able to do a run of games. Time for Sentiment to go to realise our ambitions imo

a niche perspective
