So fracking ban lifted and more oil licenses being granted by the government… on 12:18 - Sep 8 with 514 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | It won’t happen anyway, as it won’t be economically viable. Even if it was it would be such small volumes it won’t make zero difference to the wholesale price. It’s a symbolic move to please the rabid “climate policies are wokery” crowd who thought Boris was a liberal leftie.

Wasn't there talk of Truss govt. restructuring UK FF production to force the private companies doing the extraction to sell to UK at lower prices than world market? Using windfall tax threat as a lever. Even so, clearly totally the wrong path to go down - and (sorry to be a bore on this everyone) when will they ever get that fracking simply isn't viable in the UK due to geology, landmass, population density, community consent (the last quite rightly needed).

Was the law changed 2-3 years ago to allow planning permission for fracking sites to be granted from Westminster? Can't remember. If it's left to local planning depts, there's not a single one left in the UK that'd be so stupid as to grant any.
