The original decision was incomprehensible. Yes, shutting down some of the facilities for part of the day would have been understandable.

They should also be giving the person or people on their Twitter account a bonus for politely dealing with the fallout from such a daft decision.

Companies, associations, sports bodies etc seem to be so worried about being criticized for being seen to lack respect for the monarchy that they are losing any notion of common sense in their decision making. See British Cycling as another example.

It’s serious stuff. Cycle racks need to mourn too.

Probably also because places like Centre Parks don’t want to pay their staff double pay!

Kicking everyone out & giving customers refunds would be way more expensive than making sure there is at least a skeleton staff crew available. This seemed such a bad business decision on every level that it beggars belief it was made in the first place.

That's got to be a joke surely.

Someone has printed that out and pinned it on there for a laugh.

I mean it's very good, don't get me wrong.

That’s true. Maybe I’m just cynical but I’m sure there would have been another reason.

Siri, show me a company tying itself up in knots…

It’s quite amusing. They couldn’t have messed things up more if they’d tried. But then the whole country has gone mad.

Everyone is out to outdo each other. Madness like you say.

I did a click & collect at Tesco yesterday, (other stores are available or something), and the chap there was telling me they are closing on Monday. That had me have a mild split-second panic on whether I'd bought enough Magners, but it's ok, I think I have enough.

That won't stop anyone doing as they please. It does mean Tesco (and other stores) will be like Xmas for a couple of days before-hand because the majority of folk will have the BBQs out and getting hammered on Sunday.

Maybe Monday will get a large TV audience of hungover citizens, (sorry, subjects), because they'll be too fecked to do much else.
