The whole of the stoppage time in one video… 09:30 - Oct 30 with 3385 viewsSitfcB

After the third goal we did so well to hold the ball and make it look comfortable and obviously getting the fourth goal but then after that one went to pieces for some reason, why after their third are we going long from our kick off???

So many things for McKenna and the players to review and learn from there on 09:44 - Oct 30 with 3276 viewsunstableblue

It is absolutely crazy, crazy we drew that game and gave away the three points

There are so MANY moments were we could have made decisions to close that game out, and give the ref the chance to blow

But I think the players were caught up in the amazing away atmosphere and had their heads in celebrating mode… just lost concentration and composure

Utter madness, some of the decision making

We learn, we go again, we get 6 points from the next two

The fact is 99% of refs would have blown for full time just after their 3rd. As much as we are to blame for poor defending or goalkeeping I’m convinced it was just one of those freak games.

That's good camera work with several views of the Charlton goals, which will hopefully help McKenna. Clear that Ball didn't follow his man, and Woolfy and Edmundson were a bit asleep when the ball came in, for the third. And Davis wasn't fully aware of the position of the scorer for the fourth. I am inclined to think Greg Leigh wouldn't have allowed that to happen, so it's a real shame we don't have him to bring on near the end of such games. But I don't think Walton was at fault for the fourth.

I think a combination of complacency and tiredness (Ball) may have played a part but I would have settled for a point at the beginning. And no one died.

Anyone complaining about the amount of stoppage time played needs to give their head a wobble.

I honestly think if they'd been given another chance to put the ball in our box they'd have scored a 5th.

Helluva game.

I know in the grand scheme of things it makes very little difference, but the fact two of their players are 5-10 yards into our half when they kicked off at 4-2 annoys me an irrational amount (95.17 on the clock)

Wonder if that would get looked at by VAR in the premiership…

Well that has caused me to relapse, absolute halloween horror show. Even though I knew the result it’s still hard to believe we couldn’t see that one out.

There are so many things in stoppage time that are just wrong. The amount of time added on. Morsy not going to the corner. Edmunson got a shove into the goal for their third. Burns didn't track at the back post and the ball into the box for their fourth was perfect.

Fair play to Charlton who kept going most teams would have given up at 2-4.

Christ, I didn't appreciate at the time but we were controlling the game at 3-2. We could've easily tapped the ball around them for a few minutes and seen this one out, but the 4th goes in and it's so obvious we believe there's no way back. A big lesson in game management.

Their 3rd goal was a complete clusterfu@k. Morsy gives away a needless foul from which they can sling it into the box. Ball is asleep, Keogh static and Walton just doesn't seem to react. Even the Charlton commentator says how poor that was. I can understand Morsy before their fourth as he must have thought he was going to score but he should have gone outside. For their fourth, too little effort made to stop the cross, Harness I think. I don't like the Keogh substitution at that stage. Tantamount to saying to the opposition, "go on, sling in the box if you want!" Better to shut the game down with an extra midfield player and strangle the game from there.

What was wrong with the time added?

Three goals, at least five subs, plus the usual stoppages. If a game isn't getting 5+ minutes these days then something's wrong.

And we didnt exactly rush back after scoring, I reckon we wasted about a minute celebrating each. Shame it has bitten us in the @rse but fair play to the ref for keeping a proper eye on time, it's what we've been asking for all season.

Exactly. It's hilarious that anyone is upset by that considering how much we moan about time wasting.

Goal no.3 celebrations, including the Keogh sub, was two minutes plus.

Balll was limping for last 10-15 minutes. He was not moving freely.

Ironically, what we were doing as we were trying to get the third goal at the start was what we needed to be doing after we got the fourth. It was controlled, patient, stretching them. Once we went 4-2 up we just started lumping the ball back to them. All control lost. It's just weird.

Have to hand it to their defender Thomas, the last ditch tackle on Morsy at 4-3 which starts off their attack is absolutely sublime.

Also have to hand it to Morsy that he shouldn’t have been going for goal at that point….

With Morsy's chance, he did what we do far too often in the penalty area and takes too many touches. But you're right, the main thing is he should've headed towards the corner.

Arguably he shouldn't have even been on the pitch, though not sure if the current rules say he should have been sent off for that handball?

I've got no issue with the time the ref added on given the amount of time we took to celebrate our third and fourth.

We broke every rule there is about seeing a game out after our fourth.

Didn't keep possession.
Didn't head to the corner flags.
Gave away cheap set-pieces to allow them to sling the ball in.
Didn't defend the set-pieces and attack the ball.
Didn't mark our players.

The players simply stopped and went into party mode along with the fans.

KMc was right, the emotion got to the players and they switched off. You would like to think we would learn a lesson from that...
