Ladapo’s goal 08:44 - Oct 30 with 1939 viewsclive_baker

Worthy of winning a game, such good forward play and a bullet of a finish. Fair play to him, he’s starting to find his feet and scoring different sorts of goals.

Still can’t quite believe yesterday. Their 1st goal was really well worked to be fair to them, 2nd was sloppy from Harness and then an obvious error from Walton who we can’t be too critical of given his general reliability in a Town shirt. It happens, and at 2-2 I thought we took control again, Edwards had a great chance, Ladapo found what looked to be a late winner. I’m hindsight I actually think Morsy’s goal was the worst thing to happen as we definitely thought the game was won at that point. That last few minutes was, needless to say, beyond chaotic and not acceptable. We need to learn from it.

However, when all is said and done the league table doesn’t see the context, it’s just an OK away point and 1 more point than Plymouth took at Charlton. Certainly no need for an over reaction, our rivals will have tricky trips on days we have (hopefully) more straight forward days like Wednesday did yesterday. Let’s not become our own worst enemies and become too reactionary. It’s been a great October, 16 points from a possible 21 which is 2ppg plus an extra 2 for good measure. 2 league games in November and 6 points has to be the target.

Just said on another post it reminded me of some of Daryl Murphy's strikes - strength to get away from the defender and a power finish.

Does feel a bit surreal doesn't it? Can't really believe it happened but there we are.

I was more annoyed with Harness than Walton for the 2nd even if it was a GK error, could have just got hold of the ball and kept it moving but tries to be too clever and gives it away. Thought he was poor when he came on, far too loose with the ball.

Agree re: Morsy's goal. Our best bit of 'seeing out the game' play was the build up to it when we were passing it around nicely, switching play side-to-side, not letting them near it, finding the spare man etc. then Morsy takes a pot shot which deflects in and we switch off thinking it's in the bag. Daft decision from him at 4-3 to try and take on 4 defenders to score a 5th rather than go into the corner. Must have only been about 60 seconds left at that point. Frustrating as we're a really good possession based team but completely abandoned what makes us so good at it at 4-2. Too slack all over the pitch and paid the price for it.

At the end of the day we're still a dozen or so points off 7th, 3 ahead of 3rd, potentially 4 off top come Monday evening, which is pretty much exactly where we were a couple of weeks ago. All we can do is dust ourselves down, avoid embarrassment next Monday night, keep working hard and pick up the wins again.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

It was a great view of it from the away end as well as you saw the ball accelerate away from the despairing dive......

It showcased everything Ladapo is or at least should be. You just want to see it more often.

Right about goal no.4, we treated it like the final whistle. In a way you can't blame them for that - McKenna basically said as much. That would have given them so much relief and they can't have imagined there would have been so many errors and so many things would have gone against us during the next 2 minutes.

That Ladapo goal was exactly the sort of goal I expected from him when he joined. Absolute class.

I'm still a bit baffled by the disrespect/dislike he gets even before he hit that. Had the game finished there we'd be talking about that moment for a few years I reckon.

Celebrating by pointing at the name on the back of the shirt is seldom a good look. Hopefully he'll get to the stage when he doesn't feel the need to do it.

Yes, as soon as he hit that it was clear it was going in. Sometime TWTD poster Olimar rightly described it s as a goal, and a moment, we should have been enjoying back for years but it won’t be because we messed it up. See also Chambers at Norwich in the regard, that’s might be the last time an equaliser felt so crushing

I dunno, i'll have to phone him back. I guess so, as long as its a ground shot, which it was.

Not an expert on physics, but I believe the ball gains speed initially before slowing down. I think the consideration of forces involved is a bit more complex.

He’s really impressing me, scoring a range of goals, tap ins and now ‘something out of nothing goals’

Can see him ending the season on 15 now
