First time I noticed this yesterday 08:21 - Mar 19 with 1526 viewstextbackup

Probably been spoken about or noticed by others ages ago… but on pretty much every attack yesterday we had all 10 outfield players in the final third (maybe a yard or so in the middle third)
But we were so so high up.

Shrewsbury had nowhere to turn when they won the ball back, so punted it out for a throw in. Really intense from us.

And on plenty of occasions you could see 4/5 of our players outside the box calling for it to be laid back for a shot. 4/5 options every time, excluding those in the box too!

I honestly thought we’d draw yesterday, and it would be one of those, but wow, we destroyed them

We take the phrase 'attack is the best form of defence' pretty seriously don't we?! Must be horrible to try and play against when we dominate a team in that way.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Totally agree with all that ba. Shrews looked confused at times but tbf never capitulated. If they'd lost their concentration it would've been a few more goals. Cracking stuff from Town.

Good point. I think the important thing to remember is that Shrewsbury have actually been on a decent run and we made them look distinctly average. Wow we played some lovely stuff yesterday.

At one point we made 3/4 passes, with about 6 players all running in different directions… I actually closed my eyes to reset brain as it threw me massively 😂

Shrewsbury tried a bit of pressing in the first half, but had pretty much given up after the break, surrendering two-thirds of the pitch to Town.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

That was largely due to the Shrews having 5 at the back, 4 in the midfield and 1 up top.

They tended to drop quickly when losing possession, trying to stop us getting in behind.

Hence we were pretty much able to camp in their half when attacking.

They play three at the back and set up like that I noticed, just shows our quality now down both flanks now because they were very quickly pushed back into a five and that pretty much remained all game, we made them look bang average, and to be fair they're not a bad side, coming back to get a 2-2 at Derby shows that.

What pleased me as much as anything yesterday was the last five minutes and the seven added on where the players stayed focused and switched on seeing the game out...a goal out of nothing from Shrewsbury and then that seven minutes added time could so easily have seen us under the cosh, we've all seen it before.
