Did something for the first time today 17:05 - Apr 5 with 1957 views | Coastalblue | No, I didn't lose my V card. After more than half a century on the planet I wrote to my MP for the first time, of course I'm sure it will do absolutely naff all but you never know. (well actually I'm pretty sure I do)

Did something for the first time today on 17:07 - Apr 5 with 1924 views | J2BLUE | I wrote to Ben Gummer once. Long letter quoting lots of sources including things that were said in HoC. He replied with one sentence which basically said not my problem.

Did something for the first time today on 17:11 - Apr 5 with 1905 views | Mullet | I got a cut and paste edict from Tory HQ when I did that to mine, despite the fact I sent very specific questions about what he'd said publicly and in the past. It's a shame he's rarely in the constituency too, makes it hard to get an answer face to face.

Since when, despite him knowing I didnt vote for him, we have spoken 3 or 4 times and a couple on both local and national issues He is actually a really nice guy and very caring about his consistency. Its a shame he is a Tory

Did something for the first time today on 17:39 - Apr 5 with 1732 views | bluelagos | When I lived in Wilnecote, my MP used to drink in my local on a Friday night. Had quite a few chats with him, usually when p*ssed tbf. He was alright and was interested in talking higher education having himself only gone to University as a mature student and we were pretty much the only people in the pub with more than a CSE between us. Since then, have had a few emails off James Cartlidge who I met once (at a clinic) and seemed a classic "nice but dim" Tory. But he's a 100 times better than Tom H or Theresa Coffee who epitomise the nasty side of the Tory party from what I can tell.

Did something for the first time today on 17:55 - Apr 5 with 1621 views | sohamblue74 | Great to hear. Easy to sit and moan. Harder to take constructive action. Well played. I emailed my (dreadful) MP Lucy Frazer regarding Barnard Castle at the start of party gate. Got a template response from Cummins and Tory HQ. But felt better for trying at least.
Did something for the first time today on 18:02 - Apr 5 with 1581 views | Buhrer | My local Tory MP seems a massive twit but they were very helpful in dealing with our childs headmistress and ensuring they acted legally instead of how they fancied.

Ben Gummer used to advertise what pub he would be in on a Friday evening and invite people to come and discuss any problems. I wrote to him about a problem once he he was pretty amazing to be honest and took it to Vince Cable who was less than amazing to say the least. I bumped into him in The Arcade a while back and he remembered my case which was about 7 years after. He also did a lot of charity stuff organised by my daughter - like riding his bike around a car park 100 times. All in all I thought BG was a blooming good bloke and our best MP since Ken Weetch. Is 'soft father of the house' what Penny has to call you?

Did something for the first time today on 18:31 - Apr 5 with 1451 views | Bbmaj | I wrote to my local MP in the late 80s and asked if I could visit the Houses of Parliament. He said yes, took me on a tour, showed interest in my school project and was a thoroughly decent chap. I think his name was Jeremy Corbyn, wonder how things worked for him? Perhaps someone on this board has an opinion 😂

I wrote to the lovely, hard working Jo Churchill last week. I got this back and I believe every word of her automated message Thank you for taking the time to contact me. This is an automatic reply to let you know that your email has been received. I endeavour to read all emails and where appropriate, I relay my constituents’ views to the relevant Minister. Strict parliamentary protocol means that I can only correspond with my constituents. Therefore, if you have not already done so, I would be grateful if you could provide your full name, address and postcode. If you are not sure whether you are a constituent, you can find out HERE I aim to answer all relevant correspondence as quickly and efficiently as possible. Unfortunately, due to the volume of letters, emails and telephone calls received every day, it is not always possible to reply immediately. It is for this reason that I prioritise according to importance and urgency. If you have copied or blind copied me into an email, I will read it but will take no further action. If you would like me to take any action, please send a further email outlining how I can assist. Due to the pressure of responding directly to the large number of identically worded emails, I will not respond to mass campaign emails. Instead, where there is a widespread interest www.jochurchill.org.uk will provide responses to campaign and policy issues. Jo Churchill MP
