Looking at the points to play for 01:52 - Apr 23 with 2531 views | BuffaloBill | We surely go all out for a win Tues, a point most likely won't make a huge difference as weds could still win buth and we'd need at least 1 more win from the last 2. If my maths are correct? 4 points clear would mean a couple of draws and that's assuming weds get 6 points which I do also doubt

Obviously a win Tuesday means we could seal promotion at home to Exeter......

Looking at the points to play for on 06:03 - Apr 23 with 2008 views | Churchman | Exactly the same approach as we’ve taken really since the Bolton match in big away games and I think we will come out ok. Yesterday’s result was astonishing. Despite Darren Ferguson’s whinging and a few chances for Peterborough, we had too much for them. Brilliant result, performance and support - the latter can only help and will again on Tuesday. Before yesterday a fellow poster suggested two points from Peterborough and Barnsley would be sufficient to put us in the box seat. I got the maths, given the goal difference, but being a greedy b’stard I’d love us to go to the last game not needing a result other than to pinch the trophy maybe. Greedy maybe but wishful thinking? Not any more.

We were excellent yesterday but the schedule has been grueling and we got kicked all over the place yesterday. Would be skeptical we can go there with such a short turnaround and play with same intensity as Bolton, derby and yesterday. Take a point now which would be an excellent result having won yesterday.

It’ll be tough, but they’re a fit side and to use a horrible cliche we are ‘in the moment’. I hope the approach is the same as the games mentioned if nothing else. Barnsley have also had a busy schedule, though admittedly yesterday will have taken less out of them than P’Boro did us. I’m probably getting over excited, but I see Tuesday as a real opportunity.

Agree - my concern is that there must be a few knocks from yesterday and recent schedule, so we’ll have to shuffle the pack a bit you’d think? And the drop off in quality in certain positions is massive. Harness at Cheltenham still gives me nightmares for example!
Looking at the points to play for on 07:45 - Apr 23 with 1593 views | ringwoodblue | Barnsley will be the biggest test since Plymouth away. Let’s just play our game and hope we can leave Oakwell with at least a point to keep the unbeaten run going and our confidence levels high.

Well no, because one team just had a very intense away game and got kicked off the park first half. The other had a home match against Oxford and won’t do any travelling.

Yeah I'd bite you'd hand off now for a point. That would put us in such a strong position, needing 'only' a win and a draw from Exeter and fleetwood
Looking at the points to play for on 08:25 - Apr 23 with 1289 views | HighgateBlue | We definitely go all out for the win, as do Barnsley. However, a point would not be the worst consolation prize - given the goal difference position, we need five points. A draw v Barnsley would mean that we need a win and a draw if Wednesday win both their games. A loss v Barnsley would mean we need to win both of our last two, if Wednesday win both their games. So that point could make all the difference. Beat Exeter at home, and then we'd only need a point at Fleetwood. Far more comfortable than going to Fleetwood needing three points. I repeat though, we must go all out to win the Barnsley game. It would be madness to change our approach at this stage. We haven't lost against a 'footballing' side in the league for a lonnnng time, home or away. Not since the Plymouth away game I reckon. And Plymouth's home form at that time was unreal. Barnsley will need to play like a title-winning side to beat us. Good luck to them.

McKenna won't be shuffling the pack now, only possible change is Ladapo/Hirst. Our best starting 11 just have to manage themselves through the next 3 games and play with minor knocks if necessary.

I hope you're right but Davis, Clarke and Broady looked on their last legs yesterday. Would you play those guys at 70/75% in what is likely to be the most intense game of the season? I'm not so sure given a loss on Tuesday is far from the end of the world. Arguably Exeter is the bigger game for us.

I think there are probably several players on both sides who won't be operating at 100% fitness. We just need to keep momentum now. We really do not want to lose at Barnsley. It would mean we had to win our last two games to guarantee promotion. A point there gives us the scope to draw one of the other two remaining games. A win knocks the stuffing out of Wednesday and probably makes the other two games almost irrelevant. [Post edited 23 Apr 2023 8:52]

I thought some of our players were looking quite leg weary half way through that 2nd half yesterday. As long as we keep winning ( a big ask imo ), they won’t notice the tired legs so much.

Yep, we were on the ropes a bit at 2-0 until the fresh legs came on. Some excellent last ditch defending in that period though.
Looking at the points to play for on 09:06 - Apr 23 with 1023 views | N2_Blue | How can you say a draw won’t make a difference. It would still be a very good result. Currently we need 5 points from the 3 games but if we lose on Tuesday we would then need 6 points from 2 games! So avoiding defeat is huge.

Looking at the points to play for on 09:07 - Apr 23 with 1014 views | ArnieM | Given the importance of the Barnsley fixture, their strengths etc, this is why I was so opposed to the game being postponed. We now have to play them just 2 days (3 if you count the actual match day) after a gruelling game vs Posh. Our players will have had minimal time to recover physically, and also have to travel. This game is massive, and we’ve not given ourselves the best preparation time against arguably the strongest team in the division have we.

The alternate was to go to Oakwell without Broadhead or Burns. Though we would forced to do so, had Jamaica not mucked everyone around.
