Hardly any mention of winning the league 13:56 - May 5 with 5460 viewstextbackup

Are people just happy with 2nd?

Exhausted from thinking about football 24/7 so have given themselves a break?

Or proper nervous what Sunday could bring?

Personally think we win, and Portvale take points off plymouth

It's done. We're up. 2nd tier again. Investment, good feel about the place, cracking young manager etc. etc.

Don't really care at all about the title. Would like 100 goals 100 points, but really not even arsed if we lose Sunday.

Think we’ll both win, but if somehow Plymouth cock it up I’ll be absolutely going mental. Promotion may be in the bag but I really want to win it. I think we deserve to and nearly all opposition managers have said we are the best team in the league and id like the history books to reflect that on paper by being league winners. Not everyone pays attention to GD which would obviously tell a story.

Bit of a free hit Sunday. I think the title means more to lil ol Plymouth which could play into our hands nicely.

Regardless of what happens Sunday, We've absolutely smashed this season to bits.

i'm very similar, not really bothered about whether we finish 45th or 46th. the prize is promotion.

i would love to get the 100 points and 100 goals as no other football league team has ever managed that

The thought of looking back on this season, and being able to say we were

Champions
Top scorers
Best defence
Chaplin top scorer
Davis top assists
Least losses

That’s a complete clean sweep. (Albeit not highest wins)

Would obviously be a lot better if it was in our hands but can’t really get up for it when we don’t really have control.

Been so relaxed this week since Saturday, not worried about permutations or this or that, glanced at the league table a couple of times still and just smiled.

I read the fan information thing from Fleetwood though and can’t believe we’re going into the last day with a chance of winning a league title, hopefully the stars will align and we’ll get in, but if not then can’t complain.

Doubt many are that fussed about winning the league. Nice to finally get a promotion after all these years but winning the third division doesn’t exactly look that impressive in our honours list.

Plymouth deserve it anyway in my opinion. They might not be scoring the goals we are but they haven’t had a single dip in form all season which is incredible really. Done it on a fraction of our budget too.

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

Walton golden glove as well.

Would be great to achieve, let’s hope Plymouth get the jitters.

It’ll nice to win it and I’m sure that the players will want to - but I just want to wave goodbye to L1. Simply glad that we don’t have anything to be concerned about on Sunday. Looking forward to a couple of new players and the fixture list.

Judging by the chip on their shoulder about pundits having us as "the best team in League One history" Plymouth are going to be absolutely bang up for it.

I've never been too bothered by it to be honest. I know we're in the 3rd tier on merit etc but there's a part of me that doesn't want the L1 Winners (3rd Tier) on the honours list tbh.

Promotion is the prize, always has been. As a result I have zero nerves at all.

Edit: I'm sure the players will want to win it though, so for that reason it would be nice. Ultimately I want us to win on Sunday so we reach 100 points, if it's enough for 1st that would be the cherry, but regardless we've still got the cake.

Plymouth taking 4,000 to Port Vale. Reckon they’ll be well up for it and cruise to an easy win. Not fussed really. But would be nice to hit the 100/100 totals

L1 - we are finally out of it....no real need to make a song and dance over it (we are not Norwich).

My son asked me the other day and I said that I don't care, I just wanted us promoted. Don't get me wrong, I will jump about like a loon if we win the title, an absolute loon, but it won't take one iota of my promotion joy away. Last Saturday was one of the best days of my life, end of. Also, if Plymouth win, they genuinely deserve it. I'd have been gutted if it was the Wendies! You have to be some team to finish above us. My voice still hasn't fully recovered from last weekend!

Honestly, L1 is a horrible league and I'm glad to get out of it. If we win it great but it really isn't something to get open bus parades organised and the like.

Yes, we need to recognise that that we've had a great season, but for me, it's merely a stepping stone, a mere footnote.

As the boys from EADT said " No one remembers runners up" But I said all along that I am deliriously happy with getting automatic promotion. I suppose never say never with Plymouth as they seem to defy what people think will happen with them. But my take is that we have a much better chance of pushing on next season. Whether we are good enough to challenge and get promotion to the Premier League remains to be seen. What we know is that again McKenna and co will move heaven and earth to try and achieve Premier League status. The main thing to me is that if and when we reach the Holy grail we don't end up a yo-yo club. That we mean a great deal of investment and wheeling and dealing.

Weirdly I was more interested in winning the league prior to promotion than I am now.

Now we’re up I couldn’t really care less. We’ll be playing Championship football next year and won’t have to deal with the likes of Wycombe and Accrington again, that’s enough for me.

It would be nice to reach the double 100 though.

100 points and 100 goals is within our control. do that and at this stage 1st or 2nd is in the hands of the gods and not worth worrying about.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

100 points and 100 goals more important personally, will make more history than winning the 3rd tier. Someone will do that (win the league) every season but we will go down as 1st EFL team and 2nd league team to achieve that honour.

And credit to Wrexham and Notts County for doing the double 100 if you count non-league too.
