It’s bollox. Yes, they ‘play out from the back’. But all that means in reality is they faff about with short passes in their own half. It doesn’t mean they can break the lines and actually get forward. Martin’s obsessed with possession, end of. For it to be meaningful it should be possession with the aim of penetration (steady Keno!). Otherwise all you’re doing it putting yourself under pressure needlessly. Martin’s massively overrated (and that’s not the budgie link talking - he’s just very one dimensional). | |

To be fair, Leicester are doing a bloody good job of it, but some of that is down to Southampton being half-arsed in their press - they're committing the numbers, but it's not a joined up effort. | |
