Decent point yesterday 12:22 - Dec 27 with 555 views_clive_baker_

Given the quality of the opposition. They’ll win the league, no doubt about that. Fair play to them, they’ve got a lot of individual quality but what was evident yesterday is they’re a very well organised side who don’t give you a lot of change. So stubborn defensively, so quick offensively. They’re the best team to visit PR this season IMO, and one of the best I’ve seen at this level in years I would say. Guess the league table doesn’t lie in that respect.

On balance a good night but losing Hirst is a big blow. It’s been precarious that we’ve not really had cover for him and I’m sure we were all hoping he could get through to January unscathed when we likely bring in reinforcements. Hopefully we can do some business pretty early in January, as with the FA cup break we don’t play Sunderland until 13th. So it’s potentially just QPR and Stoke to get through, but they’re big games, and it’ll be interesting to see how we cope with his absence. They’re all big games if we want to hang on to 2nd innit.

I see Leeds are at WBA on Friday which won’t be easy, then they host Birmingham NYD. Southampton host Plymouth, then go to Norwich.

If someone offered me us maintaining a 5 point gap to 2nd after these next 2 you would have to take it. To go into the final 20 games with that cushion would be a great position, strengthen in Jan, and we’ve still got Southampton to come to PR of course which could be monumentally important.

Going to be exciting, but first things first we need to beat QPR under the lights. Looking forward to it.
