One player I'd like to know people's thoughts on Is Johnson.
I can't quite work out if I like him or prefer Tuanzebe.
Of all signings we've seem him the most and I couldn't really tell you if I've felt he's done a solid job or if there's something there but not quite shown it as yet.
I honestly don't know who I'd prefer as RB. |  |

He's a mixed bag so far. He does some really good things, but then he also does some not so good things. Loses possession a lot, but wins possession a lot.
Axel is a much better defender - you just can't run him one on one. But Johnson is better going forwards, with space ahead of him. Apples and oranges I guess.

I think he's been ok, but doesn't yet look a cut above Tuanzebe in that position for me (at least defensively)
You would have hoped with his prem experience he would have, but it takes differing amounts of time for all new players to settle and adjust and will especially with how the RB in our system is difficult. |  | | |

He gets foward a lot but then didn't do anything with the ball. Maybe one who will improve on that aspect, but felt a lot of attacks broke down on the right when he got on the ball. Ogbene seemed to disappear after 20 minutes, not sure if that coincided with Johnson getting forward more |  |

Suprised by his lack of athleticism, thought he would be much quicker and stronger. Looks like he’s going to fall over every time he gets the ball and his first touch leaves a lot to be desired, at present would prefer a fully fit Clarke over him. When everyone’s fit he would be my 3rd choice based on current showings which is a concern as he’s on around 50k a week… |  |

It's hard/unfair to judge players when they only play every now and then. Only when a player is settled into a side do you see just how good/bad/indifferent they are.
I wouldn't read anything into last nights result, it means very little in our main goal this season. For what it's worth, I think Johnson will be our first choice RB from mid season onwards. |  |

I think this is the issue he's never really had a lon run in a team and also played in different positions. He needs to make a position his own. Was for me one of our better players last night. | | | |

Totally agree - West Ham mates didn't rate him and laughed when we signed him. He gets forward, loses the ball and can't get back - he thinks he is better than he is. | | | |

From what I've seen he's probably been our least effective signing but it's early days yet. I was expecting that honour to befoul Townsend but I must admit I feel less worried if we have to go for a few games without Leif after seeing him last night. He looked like a more than able deputy. |  | | |

Let’s see how he looks in three months time. At the moment he looks more of a Championship player than PL to me and is third choice behind Axel (class player) and Harry C (energy, commitment, aggression).
That’s a harsh view on Johnson, not least because McKenna would never have taken him if he thought there was nothing to work with. Players take different timescales to integrate and settle. It’s very early and he’s playing in a collection of strangers, not a team. |  | | |

Judging by comments around the internet, most seems to dislike him. personally, while his definitely not the finished article, I see potential in him. His actual got a good spot for a player and can play some nice balls through l, seen him do it quite a few times now.
Like with the rest of the squad, it's going to take some time, but I believe he will get better. |  | | |
