That is bonkers, but it also means that it's only one year until this is 30 years old. A tune that caused consternation among those who were still in the raincoat wearing contingent of the New Order fanbase in my student halls of residence. Me? I thought it was one of the best things I’d ever heard.

Getting Away With It is of course the correct answer. At the start of my second year at uni, one of my housemates had been so bored at home in Billericay that he moved into our student house a month early on his own. When the rest of us moved in he seemed to have spent most of his time looking at jazz mags and writing an alternative chorus for that song, the only bit I can remember of which was the line ‘I’ve been going down the pub, just to get p1ssed on purpose’
