Would it be unreasonable to assume that Richardson had a key part to play in Wigan's success last season? I know our players are hardly world-class but you would expect at least a slight improvement over 6 weeks of coaching under a new manager.

Average to poor players, completely devoid of confidence after successive failures the last few years, juggled by numerous managers, who know that they’ll more than likely be released at the end of season...that’s what he’s come in to work with. Add in the takeover, which has brought more uncertainty, it’s a proper tough gig. I am hoping to witness a shot on target next game though.
