How do we now play? 17:49 - Jul 21 with 745 viewsSimonds92

My issue with McCarthy wasn't necessarily due to long ball, it was the lack of attacking intent and excitement. I would much rather watch a Leicester style of football having less of the ball but looking to attack at every opportunity than a Man utd. Dominating the ball but not doing anything with it. For me we didnt go for it enough under Mick and i'm just wondering whether we are looking to attack or whether we try to dominate the ball without really doing much with it?

Keeping the ball, using it sensibly, pressing high and getting forward as often as possible. Direct when needed, but no long ball.

Nothing wrong using the long ball sparingly even if we are trying to play a passing and possession brand of football, but under MM ‘the hopeful hoof forwards’ was plan a,b,c etc....
