Realise that. Wrong terminology, I mean an extra loan if needed before the loan window closes

So something like this? on 20:29 - Aug 7 with 3129 views | pointofblue | And we're paying the new players in fresh air? Yes, they may be on lower wages than those who have left but there's more of them too - I doubt the difference will be that much. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Garner stays and we don't sign Windass. I guess one thing we're not considering in the maths is Hurst and Doig are surely on less than McCarthy and Connor? So there will be some money saved there which could be reinvested elsewhere.

In fairness, we have no idea what this top ups are. It could be another 1m for each of we win promotion by which point we’d be rolling in it anyways!

We have to account for the full value of the transfer, no matter what the add-ons are. A value has to be applied for accounting terms and to pass an audit. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The way clubs should treat addons are potential earnings on next season's budgets if they are incoming, and definite outgoings for the current season - That is the only way to really guarantee to avoid being caught short

Even if that is the case, there is nothing to stop Evans not covering those additional add ons, depending on their nature of course

It was mentioned both were deals totalling £1.5m. So if true, that is what we have to use. My point is we can’t just account for the initial £750k which is what most are making the mistake of doing to declare we have more cash than we actually do

Nothing except his willingness to do so, which he almost certainly is covering the running cost of the club for the year out of his pocket and I wouldn't imagine he is likely to extend further than this.

So something like this? on 20:35 - Aug 7 with 3010 views | PhilTWTD | Re Webster was £3m after the Pompey sell-on or more accurately £2.95m as they got £550,000 initially (20 per cent of profit on the £750,000 we paid them including Matt Clarke). Only a million for the academy sales as Flores hasn't been confirmed yet, but will happen. Garner hasn't gone yet! And I suspect he won't. Don't think we'll sign both Jackson and Windass.

Budget figures and accounting are different things. It would be prudent to calculate red line figures - such as clauses triggered for appearance/performance. Not so with green line figures. Payments triggered on a profit sale. They would only be triggered if the player profits and therefore is not a red overhead.

Which is exactly what I meant and you have to do to meet accounting standards. The point is we are acknowledging a potential outlay to come and we will need to provide for it somehow if you want to be prudent.
