That Bart should have done better for both their goals?

First one beat him with the post covered and the 2nd seemed to loop over him in slow motion, again seemingly with the post covered.

Maybe the angle of the video made them look worse, but it seems those are goals he would save on better form.

first goal was terrible from start to finish; just a long hoof out, Spence far too easily lets their player get the cross in, our two central defenders are nowhere near their player and Bart gets done at the near post.

second goal was weird, ball seemed to hang in the air for a long time

I thought at the time Bart should be saving the first one, as good a strike as it was.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

I'm not a fan of Spence, although he's been a bit better since Lambert came in.

He should've clattered their player if he had to. Whatever it takes, don't let him get that cross in. He was too powder-puff for me there.

Agreed, he's got to try harder to stop the cross. I honestly think he just thought the ball would run out or if it came in the cross would be dealt with by somebody else.

Too laid back and not good enough given our predicament, I would expect PL to have a quiet word this week.

I think the other defenders/Bart thought, justifiably, that the cross wasn't coming in and they were caught cold. Bart should've still saved it, IMO.

Totally agree. He lumbered over all casual and allowed the player to cross without any pressure

Overall he played ok but seemed still be in the blocks for their first

The cross for the first should never have come in. Spence should have cleared for a corner, he was far too casual.
Really couldn’t see how Bart could have prevented the second.
Annoying that Pennington had 2 attackers to deal with giving him little chance.

Thought he should have come off his line and claimed or punched the second. Hes woefully short on confidence. Almost passed it straight to one of their forwards in the first half. Excellent save in the second half though. Any consistency from last season has well and truly evaporated!

The first came from nowhere at speed, doubt any keepwer would have 'saved' that.
The second was a complete defensive cock-up

I reckon our weakness at defending set pieces played on his mind there, probably didn't want to give a free-kick or corner away as we have a poor
record of defending them.

I doubt he was thinking too much in that moment, but I could be wrong.

Would not surprise me in the slightest if he, aand the rest of the team are going into games with the mindset to avoid giving away corners and free-kicks.

Could be. But he's always been like this. He's not a good defender IMO.
