Drop Pennington for Spence after he had a very good game against Rotherham? No thanks

Same 11 I'd suspect but with Judge in for Lankester.

Dawkins or Spence will not start.

Judge in for Dawkins on the bench, Same team that started against Rotherham.

Be amazed if Judge doesn't start.

He started Quaner, Collins and Keane who had barely played this season, won't leave Judge out who has had plenty of minutes and is match fit.

Plus he's better than what we have.

Yeah i'd be surprised if Judge started ahead of Lankester. Same team again for me please.

Lol

You didn’t see the Rotherham game did you. If you did you’d not be suggesting Pennington is dropped for Spence.... or Dawkins starts, even gets in the squad

I'd like to see that. The balance was off for me against Rotherham, Skuse and Chalobah too deep and we needed an extra body in there to get some control in midfield. Felt like a 4-2-4 in a lot of ways.

You play the same team, but i'd drop Sears for Judge and give Freddie a rest, looked dead on his feet in the second half on saturday.

Gerken
Pennington Chambers Collins Elder
Trev Skuse
Lankester Keane Judge
Quaner

Keane looked much better as a 10 than a central striker, so hopefully stays there.

Bart Nsiala Bishop Sears Harrison Huws Dawkins

The only trouble now is we have so many CMs. You'd have to leave one of Bishop/Huws/Downes out to have a balanced bench.

Think this would be mine too.

Hopefully we wont keep thumping up to Judge (like we did Sears) in the first half.

Although I am trying to find a way to fit Dozzell in somehow..

That line up/formation didn't really work at the weekend though for me. I know we got the win but it was a rather undeserved 1-0 against a Rotherham side who haven't won away in this league in nearly 40 games. We need to be better than we were on Saturday if we're going to stay up, I think we've played better utilising a 4-3-3 and having more control in midfield. I'd drop Quaner for one of Huws, Judge or Bishop. I'd stick with Sears too.

I'm not sure if it's the best idea to start with 2 strikers away from home, maybe Bishop in for Quaner to be more or a 4-2-3-1 formation

Thought Sears struggled Saturday, particularly in the second half

Then just give him a half. He set up our goal and was a good outlet on the left in the first half. Maybe play Judge there instead but I think his ability on the ball might be better suited to a deeper role now.

I can see your point of view, I think I mentioned how against a team with 5 in the midfield we may get overrun against better opposition.

Could always switch to:

Gerken
Pennington / Chambers / Collins / Elder
Chalobah / Skuse
Lankester / Bishop / Judge
Keane

Subs:
Bart
Nsiala
Quaner
Sears
Huws
Downes
Dawkins

Sears is still our top scorer (isn't he...??) and is a grafter, we need him in the team.

Not entirely his fault, he had the ball blasted to him at 12 feet high for most of the first half and was marking space most of the second half. His confidence seems to has dissipated again with missing some absolute sitters recently. I feel for the lad, especially with a number of new faces appearing too.

That's better (don't get Spence in for Penn!)

However I'm still not sure about Gerks. his kicking is worse than Bart so unless PL can get team to revert back to passing out I'd bring back Bart. Gerks kicks hardly got over the half way line so they were able to launch the ball back too often.

Think he needed one of the four excellent chances he had vs Millwall and Accrington to go in, he's very much a confidence player. That said he created our goal and his pace and work rate is still a big asset in the system Lambert has us playing. I'd keep him in the side.

I take your point, but he has struggled to find the net (only one goal since 1st December) and missed some absolute sitters. Cant deny his work rate, although i felt he went off the boil second half Saturday, he looks hugely frustrated to me.

Bart isn't all that better at kicking though, and the rest of his game is shot at the minute. Got to stick with Gerken for now.

No way is Pennington being dropped after his best match for us. That back four will stay as is, until someone gets injured.

Getting the attacking side of the team working is our next big challenge. It didn't work on Saturday, especially second half.

Definitely. Seems to score 5 in 6 and then goes several games without a sniff. Think I'd try him as an 'impact sub', preferably through the middle playing off Quaner/Keane.
