I think it would depend on the length of any Article 50 extension. The first assembly would be some time in the first week of July, so would think we would need to elect MEPs if the extension was to go beyond that date.

I know that the Electoral Commission set money aside for it months ago and Tory MEPs were mysteriously summoned to No.10 a few weeks back for a 'briefing'.
