I appreciate I'm not a local but for me my love affair with Ipswich started when we were competing on a national stage and indeed on the European stage to be the best club.
We're a long way from that now but being the Pride of Anglia has always struck me as the equivalent of the Budgies' League Cup wins.
Who cares? Given both of us have been in the third tier recently but both belong in the Championship, better or worse than Norwich always seems to be missing the point. |  |

Very much so in my experience, the pinnacle being that Delia performance on the pitch and the perception they have a lot of wig wearing dressed up oddballs. But I think that might be the same 3 or 4 getting shown on the TV.
Very rarely hear them spoken of as a proper club outside their media mouthpieces on TV and in print. | |

Not as far as I’m aware. Since I moved away from East Anglia some 20+ years ago I’ve never met anyone who particularly acknowledges them or has any feelings good or bad. They’re largely irrelevant to anyone outside the local area who’s not a Norwich or Town fan. Much like us really; we are very similar in many regards. Middling size clubs supported by country bumpkins who are slightly off radar. Harsh, but true in my experience. Neither of us have had enough top flight presence recently to make any waves with the wider football fanbase/community. In our case we are now the next Coventry; thanks Marcus  |  |

I can understand that. They are in the Prem We are in L1.
It was when they were in League One and they were still treating them like they were Barca that I got annoyed. |  |
