That's true, but only 8 of his 82 innings are not outs. 1 test century before today did surprise me, given how good he is with the bat. He's a handsome b@stard too. | |

It’s good news for him, but he still doesn’t get anywhere near the volume of runs required of a number 6.....and he is agricultural at best behind the stumps. He is neither good enough to get in as a batsman or a wicketkeeper.
Great character and temperament obviously....but getting him in the side causes balance issues. |  | | |

Eoin Morgan would have been dropped many times from the ODI team over the years if it was all about stats. He is in as a leader and for his personality and ability to driver others.
This is similar for Buttler. He is perfectly good enough as a Keeper, not the best but does a job and is clearly part of the leadership team.
