Let's take a look at the opening six league fixtures:

Wigan (H)
Bristol R (A)
Rochdale (H)
MK Dons (A)
Charlton (H)
Accrington Stanley (who are they?) (H)

Before the debacle at Cambridge, and the associated suggestions of disquiet in the camp, I'd have thought one could make a strong argument for 12-15 points out of that lot being a very reasonable ask.

I'd hope that six points or less would result in serious questions being asked by ME.

Don't hold your breath. We got 4 points in our last 6 games and no serious questions were asked then. And it's taken 14 games to accrue our last 15 points.

It'll be a most fantastic turnaround to take 12-15 from the next 6 games.

We live in hope though.

At this moment in time

Wigan - I'd take a point
Bristol Rovers - a point
Rochdale - win
MK Dons - point
Charlton - point
Accrington - win

We have to be beating Rochdale and Accrington at home. If we got a win and a draw in one other games, 10 points would be very very respectable. Can't see us getting more than that.

6 points or fewer from 6 games is firmly relegation form. That against far from top sides too. It would also be a continuation of the relegation form from the end of last season.

I cannot see how 6 points or fewer from the opening 6 games could keep Lambert in a job. It is not as if there is an argument that there have been wholescale squad changes that need time to bed in either.

I would be shocked if even ME who has always shown great patience with his managers kept him on after such a poor return.

Less than 10 should be alarming.
