Now that would make electric cars a lot greener....though it must be said this article reminded of of AI's report on the Democratic Republic of Congo and Child Labour....not good at all.

As an aside, there is talk of electric motorbikes having a generic battery meaning bikes could pull up - swap for a fully charged battery, ride off.

So much simpler/quicker than recharging whilst the battery is on the bike.

If only cars had developed something similar, though I guess the weight would be the issue for a car.

As an aside, there is talk of electric motorbikes having a generic battery meaning bikes could pull up - swap for a fully charged battery, ride off. So much simpler/quicker than recharging whilst the battery is on the bike. If only cars had developed something similar, though I guess the weight would be the issue for a car.

Indeed - Petrol stations simply become the place where you swap batteries out.

But that would require all battery makes to ensure all batteries are the same.....

Which is what the motorbike manufacturers are apparently looking at. One battery for all the manufacturers.
