More than 1300 cases per 100,000 in some regions of southern Wales and now the Cardiff health board are asking if students will volunteer to come in and help. In the second week of December 28% of tests were the new variant and given that was now 2 weeks ago it's likely the rise is being mostly driven by the new variant.
Looks like the Oxford vaccine should be cleared by the MHRA in a few days so hopefully the rollout of the vaccines can then be accelerated.
