Not a popular post this 16:16 - Dec 31 with 2986 views | chrismakin | But hear me out With the likelihood of more postponement and already looking at 14 games in 50 days which I imagine will soon become 14 within 40 days With our injuries etc. Would it be safer to write off the season in prep for next season I wonder if that may come Into the clubs thinking I can't see our current team challenging at the top end once football resumes. We are slowly beginning to drift backwards It'll take a good 4/5 games for returning players to get uptop match fitness etc and then we dont know how they will react to being back. Our history with returning players isn't great. I just wonder if it might be a thought of Lambert and Evan's I appreciate you will probably think wtf with only just being outside the top 6. But I'm just thinking realistically we know our current available squad isn't good enough and I don't know if it's worth risking the returns of those out Injured [Post edited 31 Dec 2020 16:20]

Yep I'm still behind that. Just can't see Evan's doing it.

Lets just ignore our big squad and jack it in despite the virus having a big impact on other teams as well. Sorry mate but this is a stupid idea. It doesn't stand up to the slightest bit of critical thought.

Not a popular post this on 16:20 - Dec 31 with 2565 views | Steve_M | You assume that we will have problems getting back to fitness that other teams in this league won't have. It's far too early to think about writing this season off, the Championship demonstrated that last season after the enforced break. Even allowing for Lambert's failings we still have a decent squad for this level, which would be better without quite so many injuries which the break may at least allow to recover. This season will be a mess but a larger squad may well be a help to us here.

Not a popular post this on 16:29 - Dec 31 with 2497 views | Nthsuffolkblue | If this season gets played out then we should be in the best position of anyone to cope. Our squad of 53 players should be able to cover for injuries, suspensions and fatigue better than most other teams' squads of 25ish players. EDIT: The bigger issue is that we are getting closer to a position where the season will not get finished. How that gets dealt with would be more of a concern. We need to be in a far better position in the table than we are. [Post edited 31 Dec 2020 16:31]

Why would they have? It's the same for everyone. This is a crucial season. They aren't going to throw it away for some half baked idea.

Its Evan's and Lambert. Our head of fitness is on garden leave during what is now to be a very important time for clubs fitness employees. Surprisingly 0 news on any returning players in the short term.

But you agreed it was a stupid idea? So why would they consider it. Evans is a bit clueless about the footballing side of things and Lambert is generally clueless but even they wouldn't consider such a ridiculous idea.

Evan's gave Lambert a 5 year contract after winning 1 game in 13 You think he doesn't think of stupid ideas?

The Lambert deal was negotiated when we were flying. Evans should have had a rethink but he didn't. You've come up with a daft idea and you're desperately trying to claim it's possible despite the fact it's not.

I'm not desperately trying anything just literally laughed at the suggestion Evan's didnt do stupid things that literally is all. Doesn't matter when things were negotiated.. it wasn't signed and he still signed the contract AFTER the run of losses and the obvious direction the club was going.

Not a popular post this on 17:42 - Dec 31 with 2227 views | Coastalblue | We should be doing the opposite, treating every single game like a cup final, fielding the strongest possible side we can in every game and doing whatever it takes to win every single game so that if the season gets abandoned, which it could well do, there's an outside chance we're far enough up the table to benefit.

Not a popular post this on 17:45 - Dec 31 with 2223 views | N2_Blue | Ridiculous! We are not going to be the only club playing so many games in a short time and we have a bigger squad (even if it lacks quality) than most so you could argue it could become to our advantage. Chuck the season...yeah great idea that....jeesh

You wouldn't be surprised if our manager and owner had discussed giving up on a season that's only 18 games old?

Not a popular post this on 17:56 - Dec 31 with 2184 views | RadioOrwell | Write this season off ? DIdn't we write last season off ? How about writing next season off because getting promoted is like really really hard and the season after that Gillingham and Cambridge and Dagenham and Redbridge will be peaking and after that we won't have a ground and after that we could get relegated because it's a good place to build from.

I dont see how we are better placed though tbh We have and have had a major problem with injuries alot worse than other clubs, i can't see this changing with the set up we have We may if all available have a big squad, but it's who's available which is important Some squads maybe small, but we failed to beat a charlton side who didn't even have any CB's, and we barely managed shots on target, so whilst we may have players, they aren't the best. hence I see our fall down the table continuing hopefully im wrong, we get our strongest players back, they stay fit and we finish strongly. But ignoring the post itself, saying we have a big squad and we should be better placed, i think is wishful thinking personally. of all clubs, i think we are in the worse place to be dealing with a fixture pileup, our sports science/fitness etc seems to be way off the level it needs to be
