Indeed. And this North Yorkshire trip was seen as a bit extravagant at the time. My mum and dad were all a bit 'Crikey, 6 hours on a coach, a tenner up front, followed by another £20 over the next couple of months...let us have a think about this'.

We went to Dieppe on a school trip.
The main thing I remember was being really uncomfortable about taking a wee in full view (above waist height) of the whole street.
I think we were 11 and it really took some taking in at the time! | |

Worst one we did was a trip so see a county cricket game at Chelmsford. We got there 11ish as it started to rain and missed the first few overs. Left around 3 as the rain stopped and missed the last few overs. Cos they did the minimum number required, we never got a refund after watching precisely nothing. | |

We did do a trip to Boulogne tbf. My main memory was us all buying bangers and playing cards with half naked ladies on them.
Then on the ferry home the teachers telling us they'd been tipped off our coach was to be searched and to get rid of anything we shouldn't have. God knows how many bangers went over board.
